Finally finished this hutch. I had been eager and hoping to do something like this for a while and had great luck of finding someone who wanted a piece like it, and let me go at it after showing them some sketches. Based on a traditional design and I added the lower 3 drawers - which was a challenge. Tons of joinery which all disappears when you put it together, which is a pretty amazing part of the process. Some firsts on this as I made the knobs on a lathe and the crown molding. The whole thing is solid white oak with some maple in the drawers. Lots of versatile elements in this that can be turned into a wide variety of furniture.
